Families who have mentally ill relatives whose problems are compounded by substance abuse face problems of enormous proportions. Mental health services are not well prepared to deal with patients having both afflictions.
When struggling with any addiction, there are many obstacles blocking the path to sobriety which an individual simply cannot overcome on their own. Outside help is necessary to deliver experienced guidance through personal barriers and open the way to a happier, healthier recovery.
Drinking has become a widespread tradition, and a part of many cultures around the globe. It has become an essential accessory in many ceremonial as well as informal get-togethers. People drink it for pleasure, for showing their prosperity and, in some cases, in order to alleviate their mind from tensions, and mourning.
