Drug abuse intervention is something many people may have to face at some point in their life. This is true because drug addiction clouds an addict’s perception, which means an addict cannot see how drugs are affecting their life or how their life is in danger.
A drug is a substance or a chemical that the body absorbs readily, changing the way it functions. The medication that we take when we are sick is also a drug. There are many kinds of drugs, illegal drugs and legal drugs. Legal drugs are those that the government allows to manufacture and supply, but that does not mean that legal drugs are safe. The drugs have to be taken in a small specific quantity, in order to avoid its harmful effects.
When you have a teen using drugs in your home, life can be exceptionally tense and unpleasant. More and more young people are abusing substances today, and this is leading to more and more families existing in volatile home environments. If your teenager is enamored with drugs, they are likely treating you with disrespect and perhaps even stealing from you. They don’t take into account your feelings or your concerns at all, and their selfish behavior surprises you as you remember them being so adorable and caring.
